Support Worker role

Support Worker

Periwinkle Children's Centre is seeking a support worker to support children with diverse needs as well as all children through enhanced staffing.

This position is for 14 to 21 hours per week. BC ECE or BC ECEA certification is an asset, as is training and/or experience in working with children with diverse needs.

An interest and openness in a Waldorf inspired approach to Early Childhood Education, as well as the ability to work as part of our team under clear leadership are essential.

Looking Early Childhood Educators (ECEs and ECEAs)

Periwinkle Children’s Centre is seeking Early Childhood Educators (ECEs and ECEAs) to join our team in beautiful Kaslo, BC. 

We are looking to fill a full-time and/or part-time year-round position with a warm and enthusiastic Early Childhood Educator. The Educator will share responsibility for the daily care and education in our licensed early childhood program and will be working with our lead ECE on some days, and with an experienced assistant on other days. Our ideal candidate will enjoy baking and cooking, art, handwork, singing, and storytelling. They will have a love for nature and outdoor education and will support inclusion and openness.

An interest and openness to a Waldorf-inspired approach to early childhood education, as well as the ability to work as part of our team, are essential.


 REQUIREMENTS

  • BC Childcare License - ECCE or ECEA
  • Experience or interest in Waldorf pedagogical approach to Early Childhood Education
  • Ability to maintain an aesthetically pleasing, clean, safe, and sanitary classroom
  • Punctuality and reliability to meet all scheduled shifts and meetings 
  • Ability to adapt and respond to changing conditions and priorities with a positive attitude 
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues 
  • A clear criminal record check

Pay rate: $20 - $23/hour + BC ECE-WE, subject to qualifications & experience. 

Hours: 19 - 35 hours per week
